Triangle Palm;
Dypsis decaryi A drought tolerant palm from warm temperate regions.
This is a very striking palm, with the leaves rising from three distinct points around the trunk, hence the name triangle palm.
Mature height is about 15 metres, although since it is relatively new to cultivation it is rarely seen anywhere near that size.
The leaves, about 2.5 metres long and are a beautiful grey-green colour, it bears yellow to green flowers which produce round black fruit about 25 mm in diameter.
A spectacular palm which makes an excellent specimen plant. Triangle palms prefer full sun and regular watering although it can withstand occasional dryness and semi-shade.
A very fast grower once established, also a good container plant for a patio or large courtyard.
